NASA Mobile Launcher 2

We are proud to share that CAST CONNEX is providing engineered cast steel nodes and components to Paxton & Vierling Steel Co. (PVS) for use in the construction of NASA - National Aeronautics and Space Administration Mobile Launcher 2 (ML2) in support of the #Artemis program.

ML2 is the ground platform structure that will launch Space Launch System (SLS) Block 1B and Block 2 configurations to the Moon, facilitating long-term presence on the lunar surface and enabling the establishment of a Gateway for human missions to Mars.

ML2 will serve as the platform for all SLS and Orion integrated stacking operations and support the stack during prelaunch preparations, its roll to the launch pad, and during the launch countdown. ML2 will help stabilize the rocket and spacecraft and will be capable of withstanding severe launch blast environments (the SLS Block 2 rocket will produce 9.5 million pounds of thrust!).
