L.L. Bean - The River
The L.L. Bean headquarters in Freeport is a testament to the company's enduring commitment to innovation and connection with nature. This striking 390,000-sqft building transcends the traditional office space.
Instead, it embodies a profound dedication to seamlessly blending the indoors with the outdoors – a philosophy deeply ingrained in the L.L. Bean ethos.
One of the architectural highlights of this venture is the thoughtful integration of CAST CONNEX® Timber End Connectors™. These connectors are strategically placed at the termination points of timber columns, supporting an organically designed overhang that graces the building's entrance. These standardized connectors, engineered to harmoniously interface with the ends of heavy timber or glue-laminated structural elements, add a distinctive touch to the aesthetic appeal of the canopy.
CAST CONNEX Timber End Connectors are designed with precision; their primary function is to manage predominantly tension or compression loads, and they excel in architecturally exposed applications. Their purposeful surface finish sets these connectors apart, replicating the rugged appearance of traditional cast iron fittings commonly associated with classic post and beam construction.
