CAST CONNEX Vice President, USA & UK Director, Jennifer Anna Pazdon, will be attending the IASS-IWSS 2026 Joint Conference, taking place from 14-18 September, 2026 in Turin, Italy. The event brings together leading architects, structural engineers, researchers, and industry professionals from around the world to discuss advancements in shell and spatial structures, sustainability, and innovative structural design.
CAST CONNEX has a long history of supporting the International Association for Shell and Spatial Structures (IASS) through our continued presence at their annual event. In previous years, our team has also welcomed opportunities to contribute to the technical program with presentations focused on the understanding and application of steel castings in structural engineering and connection design.
For the IASS 2020/21 Symposium, Jennifer presented on a paper she co-authored with members of the CAST CONNEX Engineering team, titled "Achieving Elegant and Efficient Geometry in Architectural Frames with Casting Technology and Advanced Manufacturing: Day's End Project Case Study". The paper explored the use of custom castings to achieve architectural freedom, structural efficiency, and durability in the Day's End public art project in New York City.

At the IASS 2025 Symposium in Mexico City, we shared a presentation based on a paper CAST CONNEX co-authored titled "Cast Steel Node Solutions for Complex Multi-Planar Tubular Connections on NASA Mobile Launcher 2". The presentation explored how cast steel components addressed NASA Mobile Launcher 2's intricate geometric and structural challenges and offered insights into the role of structural steel castings in optimizing strength, stiffness, weight, connection geometry, and construction efficiency.
