Carlos de Oliviera, M.A.Sc., P.Eng.

Carlos is the founding Chief Executive Officer of Cast Connex Corporation, is the company’s Principal Structural Engineer, and is recognized as a foremost expert in the design and use of steel castings in building construction. Carlos received his Bachelor of Applied Science in Civil Engineering from the University of Waterloo and his Master of Applied Science in Structural Engineering from the University of Toronto.

Carlos is the recipient of the Ontario Professional Engineers Engineering Medal for Entrepreneurship, the Canadian Society for Civil Engineering Excellence in Innovation in Civil Engineering Award, the Ontario Centres of Excellence Martin Walmsley Fellowship for Technological Entrepreneurship, the Heffernan/Co-Steel Innovation Fellowship, and the Comité International pour le Développement et l'Étude de la Construction Tublaire (CIDECT) President’s Award for Research, amongst other industry and academic awards, fellowships, and scholarships. Carlos is a registered professional engineer in the Provinces of Ontario, Manitoba, Alberta, and British Columbia.
