On 15 May, 2026, the Acrisure Amphitheater officially opens its doors in downtown Grand Rapids, Michigan, marking the debut of a landmark 12,000-seat riverside venue designed to elevate the city’s live entertainment scene. The grand opening concert features Lionel Richie, launching an inaugural season of more than 40 performances at the $184 million venue.

CAST CONNEX is proud to have contributed to this milestone project through the design and supply of custom castings that support the amphitheater’s signature canopy roof structure. Engaged by the project steel fabricator, CAST CONNEX provided a pair of 8-ton tri-column cast steel nodes that anchor the long-span canopy roof. These architecturally exposed structural steel (AESS) components resolve a highly visible and structurally demanding condition, allowing six steel columns to converge seamlessly while maintaining unobstructed views and supporting the venue’s acoustic performance.

Mirrored at opposite ends of the amphitheater, the custom cast steel nodes deliver exceptional strength and stiffness while offering the geometric freedom required to realize the project’s ambitious architectural vision. Their precision, durability, and refined finish exemplify how steel castings can enhance constructability and erectability on complex, large-scale civic structures.

As audiences gather beneath the soaring canopy for the first time, the Acrisure Amphitheater stands as a testament to collaborative project delivery and the value of innovative steel casting solutions. CAST CONNEX is honored to support this new cultural destination and to see our custom castings help shape an enduring addition to the Grand Rapids skyline.
