Designed by HTA Architectes and CIMA+, the facility features architecturally exposed hollow structural sections for the primary gravity and lateral systems. CAST CONNEX® Universal Pin Connectors™ (UPC) were fitted to the ends of the structural elements to create a distinct modern and open design. The highly visible UPCs are visible from the various pools and through large story height windows around the space.
Notably, CIMA+ earned the prestigious 2022 Canadian Institute of Steel Construction - l'Institut canadien de la construction en acier (CISC-ICCA) Young Engineer Award, underscoring the exceptional structural steel design and execution of this remarkable aquatic complex.
