CAST CONNEX Universal Pin Connectors (UPCs) were specified for the top and bottom of the architecturally exposed chords of the bridge’s steel truss system. By utilizing UPCs, the design team achieved a clean, refined aesthetic while simplifying fabrication of the hollow structural shape (HSS) connections and “cut-to-fit” steel erection over active airport roadways. The UPCs extend into the Grand Lobby where the elegance of the cast steel components complements three large-scale art installations. CAST CONNEX is proud to have contributed to BNA’s commitment to a state-of-the-art airport for one of the world’s most visited musical destinations.
