Two words… GAME CHANGER!!! Castings used in the trusses cut fabrication time by a minimum of 50%. They also significantly reduced field labor with integrated bolted solutions. Each casting was spot on. From a fabrication standpoint, we had absolutely no issues. The field erection tolerances were tight, but not impossible. Every erector would tell you they would like more flexibility, but at the end of the day, tight connections make for a well-executed structure. And to be honest, I cannot think of a way to have the pipe section of a truss connect to top of column and make it look pleasing or intentional. But with the castings, the structure looks natural and well planned out.‍
